Bioplastics in Nature

Through experimentation with bioplastics multiple colorful sculptures were created. A small selection was shown at the outdoor exhibition “Prinzessin Turm” organized by students of the Linz Art University. Using an abandoned 19th century fortification tower as the backdrop, the bioplastics were displayed on an overgrown windowsill among spiderwebs, broken bricks and dead leaves. The natural forms and colors of the sculptures mesh together with the natural environment around. The dead and decaying plants and structures mirror the bioplastics’ future decay, as they too will slowly wilt, melt and break down.
